So what does a copywriter look like?

 

Steve Manning – Copywriter

I spent 8 years as a copywriter and Account Manager for Cumming Agency & Studios, a specialist catalogue and direct marketing agency. It was there that I wrote copy for websites, brochures, direct mail and email marketing. Plus, I gained an in-depth understanding of the advertising production process, the creative environment and how to maintain strong client relationships.

During my time in both the corporate and freelance worlds, I’ve written copy for many leading brands, including oneworld, NRMA, AGL, Westpac, Freedom, Oral-B, HCF, Rebel Sport, Cochlear, Proactiv, Clearasil and Leighton to name a few.

I hold a Bachelor Degree in Leisure and Sport Management from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and have also completed ‘Copywriting Essentials’ at the Australian Direct Marketing Agency (ADMA) and ‘Copywriting for Profit’ at the Australian School of Copywriting.

Peter Crocker – Copywriter

After completing a Bachelor Degree in Business with a double major in advertising and marketing, I moved into online marketing for The Eclipse Group. There I was responsible for managing content on one of the early versions of www.holden.com.au developing a consistent content structure across all their vehicles.

I then moved into the management of online marketing – email marketing, website development, online advertising and promotions – for www.microsoft.com.au with interactive agency, OneDigital.

Over the last decade I have worked on projects for many major companies including Microsoft, Telstra, Holden, SAP, AGL, Nestlé, Vodafone, IBM, Jim Beam, Canon, oneworld, eBay and a wide range of smaller businesses.

I am also a partner in Flying Solo – Australia’s online community for solo business owners.

Lisa Crocker – Editor & Proofreader

After 15 years in the corporate world, I moved to full time soloism in 2009. I now work as a freelance website content manager, proofreader, editor and researcher.

I also provide content management and editorial support to www.flyingsolo.com.au and have edited book catalogues, managed a large intranet site and produced a daily corporate email newsletter since 2004.

I hold a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Applied Science (Library and Information Management).
