About me
My crash course in copywriting began in 1998.
That’s when I got my first writing job creating 30 word book blurbs for a direct mail company. With 100s of books to review, 15 minutes per blurb and four editors each wielding a different coloured pen, it was a crash course in direct sales copywriting.
Fortunately I’ve loved it ever since.
After completing a Bachelor Degree in Business with a double major in advertising and marketing, I moved into online marketing for The Eclipse Group, where I was responsible for managing content on one of the early versions of www.holden.com.au – developing a consistent content structure across all their vehicles.
From there I moved into the management of online marketing – email marketing, website development, online advertising and promotions – for www.microsoft.com.au with interactive agency, OneDigital.
In early 2002 I escaped advertising land and started Peter Crocker Copywriting. Specialising in business websites and online marketing, I write copy for websites, emails, online advertising, case studies, corporate collateral and promotions. If you’ve got a business, I can translate what you do for the online world.
Over the last decade I have worked on projects for many major companies including Microsoft, Telstra, Holden, Nestlé, Vodafone, IBM, Jim Beam, Canon, eBay and a wide range of smaller businesses.
In 2006, I became a partner in Flying Solo – Australia’s online community for solo business owners. Join over 13,000 soloists and sign up to Soapbox, our free email newsletter that provides a weekly jolt of soloist wisdom along with links to our latest articles on running your own business.
